I'm a freelance film/video editor based in Auckland, New Zealand. I started editing as a hobby in 1997 - a friend asked me to make a music video for him - and over the years it's turned into my profession. I'm skilled in both Avid and Final Cut Pro, and have worked on dramas, documentaries, promotional items, and music videos. Various Shorts For Galadina (prod. Galadina)
I edited several comedy sketches for Galadina, a Los Angeles-based comedy troupe. Shot on miniDV, edited on Final Cut Pro.
Ocean View (prod. Screentime)
I completed the edit of the pilot for this aspirational drama set in Auckland's wealthiest suburb. Shot on XDCAM, edited on Avid Xpress Pro.
Maddigan's Quest (prod. South Pacific Pictures/BBC/Channel 9/TV3)
I edited 6 half-hour episodes of this post-apocalyptic children's fantasy tv series, including the series finale. In addition to typical drama editing responsibilities, as Maddigan's was an effects-heavy show, my responsibilities also included having to design effects sequences in Avid. Additionally, I edited promotional pieces for the show that were used for international sales. Maddigan's Quest airs worldwide in 2006. Maddigan's was shot on DVCPRO-HD, with offline editing on Avid Xpress Pro and online editing on Avid Adrenaline.
Nothing Special (prod. New Zealand Film Commission; dir. Helena Brooks)
I completed the off-line edit of this short film, a black comedy that was the only New Zealand film selected for the Cannes Film Festival Competition in 2005. It is available on LOOP SELECT 007: WE ARE HERE. Shot on 35mm, edited on Avid Media Composer.
Burns & McCloud: Street Sense (prod. Secret Squirrel)
In addition to co-writing this film, I edited the film in 27 hours as part of the 2004 Auckland 48HOURS competition. It won 2nd place, and has screened on C4, and is hosted at www.nzshortfilm.com. Edited on Avid Xpress Pro.

Castaway 2007 (prod. South Pacific Pictures/Fremantle Media)
I edited VT items for this quick turnaround BBC reality series about Brits stranded on a South Pacific island. Stories ranged from observational documentary to profiles to pre-title teases to parody items. Edited on Avid Media Composer with a Avid Unity/Interplay back-end.
Mitre 10 Dream Home Season 8 (prod. TVNZ)
I came on to this series as an additional editor to help with reformatting and updating this series, and co-edited the first several episodes of the series. Edited on Avid Media Composer.
Working Holiday (prod. Jam TV)
I edited one episode of this reality show for TV2 about people going overseas for 6 weeks to work a job in a foreign country. Edited on Avid Xpress Pro HD.
NZ Idol (prod. South Pacific Pictures/Fremantle Media)
I was one of two editors on the 3rd series of the New Zealand version of the popular singing show. Edited on Avid Xpress Pro HD with an Avid Unity back-end.
Ngati NRL and Ngati Porou Hauora (prod. Buto Base)
As one of several editors on these two Maori Television reality-based shows (one about Maori rugby players, the other about a Maori health care organization), I have had a mix of responsibilities, from rough-cutting segments from paper-edits to fine-tuning segments to fine-cutting programs to reach proper duration. Changing Gear (prod. Kiwi Burd Krew Productions; dir. Lisa Burd)
Working from 113 tapes, I developed a 100-minute rough cut of this talent-driven doco about women aged 45 to 72 bicycling across the United States, in addition to cutting a 90-second promo. Edited on Avid Xpress Pro HD.
